We are looking for an organic chemists to join our team
Solartes is a start-up company developing smart materials for solar energy storage.
Our vision is to make buildings more comfortable, energy efficient and sustainable.
Based on more than 10 years of research at Chalmers University of technology, Solartes develops a unique transparent composite, which stores solar energy during the day and releases heat after sunset. This technology makes it possible to design windows which shift the energy of the morning sun to the cooler evening, enhancing the passive dynamic insulation of a building. Our small team consists of renown researchers and experienced business developers.
We are looking for an organic chemist who wants to embrace the challenge of further developing the chemistry that makes Solartes the first company worldwide to offer solar thermal energy storage plastics.
Your responsibility will be to design, synthesize and characterize a new generation of small organic molecules for the Solartes smart material. It’s not only about the energy harvesting and optical properties of the molecules: scalability and sustainability are also key! The chemistry must be suitable for efficient production on industrial scale.
Does this sound fun and like it would be the right challenge for you? Then we want to hear from you as soon as possible!
You are an energetic team player, with a creative mindset who loves to solve problems.
To succeed in this challenge, you will need several years of hands-on experience with design and synthesis of new organic compounds through multi-step synthesis. Experience with flow chemistry, automated synthesis or scale-up is an advantage.
If you are also excited about pushing the boarders of technology and accelerating a sustainable future, don’t wait to get in touch!
