The core technology: a transparent plastic

Solartes plastics store solar energy during the day and release heat after sunset.

One could compare it to building materials with high thermal mass, such as stone or concrete. Just like the stone walls of a cathedral, the Solartes material shifts the energy of the morning sun to the cooler evening, reducing temperature fluctuations in the building.


We predict that over the course of one day, a 4mm thin, transparent Solartes panel will store as much thermal energy as a 2.5 cm thick wall of concrete.
